This spring the Lorain Historical Society is launching its newest series for 2024 entitled “Community Conversations”. We are excited to welcome Eric Wobser, CEO of the Greater Sandusky Partnership, as our first speaker and we hope that you can join us at the Carnegie Center on Thursday, March 14 at 8:30 a.m.
“Our goal is to inspire bold thinking, to provide a forum for civic dialogue and to encourage leaders and residents alike to take action and continue to move Lorain forward,” said Barbara Piscopo, executive director of the Lorain Historical Society.
Wobser will address ways in which a community can cultivate and foster a “culture of entrepreneurship” that is key to successful revitalization. He will highlight the importance of welcoming young people to become part of the fabric of this revitalization and challenge young people who are from Lorain and who love Lorain to take the lead in many of these initiatives. A question and answer period will follow Wobser’s remarks.
Wobser currently serves as the CEO of the Greater Sandusky Partnership and has spent his career in civic engagement and community development. His work is known to many who are engaged in the work of revitalizing legacy cities in Ohio. Born and raised in Sandusky, Ohio, Wobser’s career path led him to success in both Cleveland and in his hometown.
